Bridget Atkin is the principal and founder of WESTERN-ENVIRO and has over 16 years of botanical consulting experience. She has managed and worked on hundreds of projects focusing on monitoring and mapping flora and wetland resources throughout the Intermountain West, Colorado Plateau, Mohave Desert, and Great Basin regions. Her work specializes in federally listed threatened, endangered and sensitive plant species, habitat characterizations, noxious weed inventories, biological inventories, wetland permitting and mitigation design and reclamation planning. In addition, Bridget is experienced acting as the primary coordinator between private, federal and state agencies for water-related planning and permitting tasks, landscape development, large and small scale landscape planning and design and oversight of planting installation. Further, her experience emphasizes the use of native plant community succession to reclaim disturbed landscapes and strives to minimize or avoid the use of chemical pesticides. Ms. Atkin holds a Master of Plant Science from the Department of Plants, Soils and Climate Department and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planing Department, both from Utah State University.
Ms. Coy joined the WESTERN-ENVIRO team in 2014 and brought with her a firm understanding of desert, wetland and riparian plant ecology with an emphasis in botanical taxonomy. She is experienced in plant identification specializing in desert flora, has a strong comprehension of plant anatomy and function, ecosystem interactions, and soil communities. She has worked on numerous projects, throughout the Arid West, focusing on vegetation mapping, rare plant surveys (including Federal and State listed species), vegetation community monitoring, natural resource inventory, and habitat assessment. She is experienced in wetland ecology and delineations, Threatened and Endangered species clearance, wetland mitigation monitoring, functional assessment and habitat evaluations. Further, she is experienced in coordinating with Federal, State, Local, and Tribal organizations on environmental projects and has experience in the NEPA process as both a subject matter expert and project manager for CatEx, EA, and EIS documents. Ms. Coy holds a B.S. in Botany from Weber State University, a M.S. in Natural Resources and NEPA Certificate from Utah State University.
Jenny is a landscape architect and planner with thirteen years’ experience. She has both managed and participated in a range of landscape architecture and planning projects throughout the Intermountain West. Her work has included master plans, design concepts, planting plans, design details and construction documentation for architectural projects, public spaces, and transportation-related projects. She has particular interest in regionally-sensitive design and was recently the lead designer on a two new exhibits for the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District demonstration gardens. Jenny has also led or contributed to a variety of planning-related projects including environmental assessments and documentation, general plan updates, and small area plans/studies. She is well-versed in public participation techniques and methods for communicating and illustrating ideas and concepts.
Jenny holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning Department at Utah State University and a Bachelor of Art in Humanities (English emphasis) from Brigham Young University.
